You can help children stay warm in the winter by donating “gently used” coats to the “Coats for Kids” Drive. Give coats a second chance at a good home. There is also a need for hats, gloves, and especially coats for pre-school and young children up to size 16X. Bring them to the United Way booth at the November Noel.
The “Coats for Kids” drive has been a community project for the past 22 years. Volunteers from United Way will sort the items collected and Touch of Magic Beauty Salon will help get the coats to and from to the cleaners. Band Box Cleaners of Batesville has agreed to do the dry cleaning of the coats. If you miss November Noel, you can drop off children’s coats at Touch of Magic Beauty Shop located at 815 Main Street, MainSource Bank in Brookville or at the United Way office at 527 Main Street both in Brookville.
The coats will be distributed through the schools and other groups to children in Franklin County. You can make a difference in a child’s life if you donate a spare coat to “Coats for Kids”. If you need more information, call United Way of Franklin County at 765-647-2789.
